Mary-Lou Manizer Review

This week’s blog is a review of The Balm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter.I’ll be discussing the following:

1. Product Description,

2. Packaging,

3. Price.

1. Product Description:

The Balms website describes the product as: “Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow.”

I agree with the description it can be a beautiful subtle highlighter but you can also build it up to be a blinding glow. It is really pretty on the skin and is definitely one of my favourite highlighters, I find myself constantly reaching for it. You can use it for any occasion.

A look I created using The Balm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer.

2. Packaging:

I love the balms cosmetics packaging, it’s cheeky and colourful. As for the outer packaging, all four sides of the square, cardboard box are pink and void of any information except for the batch code which is on the bottom. The front has a cartoon mugshot of Mary-Lou, with the following information; the product name, brand name, what the product is and how much product you get. On the back is another smaller cartoon mugshot of Mary-Lou, her fingerprints and the following information; The Balms website, an Irish postal address, states it was made in the U.S.A., the list of ingredients, the barcode and a QR code that says “scan here for Video Tutorial”.

The compact which contains the product is round, plastic and silver all over, except for the front which has the Mary-Lou cartoon mugshot. On the bottom there is information which is the same as what is on the outer packaging. The compact flips back fully and has a really good mirror on the inside of the lid and the highlighter pan is sunk down into the base of the compact.

3. Price:

On the Debenhams website, it is usually €20.50 but they currently have a 10% off offer on it and it is now €18.45. It doesn’t say how long the offer is running for. Personally, I think that the price point is good, it is a really high-quality beautiful highlighter and you get 8.5g of product.

Another look I created using Mary-Lou.

I’d love to hear any thoughts you have on my blog, and if you have used Mary-Lou Manizer please let me know your opinion of it in the comments!
