This week’s blog is a review of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sweets Glow Kit. I will be talking about the following:
- Product Description,
- My opinion of the Glow Kit,
- Price and
1. Product Description:
On the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) UK website, the Sweets Glow Kit is described as: “A collection of four metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. Layer shades of Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, or wear them separately, on the face and body for a radiant glow. Ideal for use with Brush #23.
Marshmallow – Intense pearl with gold reflect
Sassy Grape – Lavender with blue reflect
Taffy – A fusion of peach, pink and gold reflect
Butterscotch – Gold with white reflect”
2. My Opinion of the Glow Kit:
My two favourite highlighters from the palette are Marshmallow and Butterscotch I love how they compliment my complexion, they are blinding and very pretty! Whereas I feel Sassy Grape and Taffy does not suit me because I am extremely pale. Sassy Grape looks like a blinding purple streak on my face and Taffy looks like a blinding reddish-brown streak on my face and I just do not think that is a pretty look on me. I think all four shades would look beautiful on darker skin tones.
I keep meaning to use Sassy Grape and Taffy as eyeshadows so they do not go to waste but I keep forgetting about them. I do think they would look very pretty on the lid.
I find the highlighters easy to blend and that they melt into the skin.
Just a word of warning, I ordered my Sweets Glow Kit last summer from the ABH US website – the UK website wasn’t up yet – and Butterscotch was smashed. I emailed ABH Customer Care and they sent out a new one, but once again Butterscotch was smashed so they refunded me and I got to keep both Glow Kits. The ABH Customer Care team were amazing to deal with and were so nice! Apparently, when a product is very pigmented it can break easily.
The Sweets Glow Kit is not up on the ABH Website so it may be out of stock, but on the ABH UK website, it costs £39. Each pan contains 7.4g/ 0.26 oz of product, which is a lot. Now it is expensive but Anastasia Beverly Hills is a high-end brand and the Glow Kit is a high-quality product.
Personally, I think it is worth the money because you get four large blinding highlighters.
Basically, I would recommend this Glow Kit if you love a blinding highlight. However, if you are into a more of a natural from within kind of glow this may not be for you.
The outer packaging is an ombré purple slip cover made of cardboard. On the front, the name of the product is embossed in gold into it and the brand name is embossed in black. On the back is the product name embossed into it, with part of the product description in three different languages, the layout and names of the shades, list of ingredients for each shade, an American and Romanian postal address, ABH US website address, that it was made in PRC, it states it is a Cruelty-Free product and the barcode.
The highlighters are in a cardboard ombré purple palette that has a magnetic close and opens back. The information that is on the palette is the same as that on the slip cover. The highlighter pans can be removed from the palette. There is a plastic overlay to stop the lid from touching the product. I would have loved if there was a mirror on the lid but unfortunately there isn’t.
The packaging is heavy which I love because I hate flimsy packaging.
I’d love to hear any thoughts you have on my blog. If you have used the Sweets Glow Kit I’d love to hear your opinions on it!
